WildlifeSafaris.in began with a simple idea: good information about India’s wildlife should be easier to find, understand and use.
India has an extraordinary variety of wildlife and landscapes, from the Himalayan mountains and forests of the North East to the tiger reserves of Central India, the Western Ghats and the islands of the Andaman and Nicobar region.
Yet information about these places is often scattered across government websites, scientific publications, field guides, tourism resources and many different travel websites. Some of it is excellent; some of it is difficult to find, outdated or written for a very specific audience.
We are building WildlifeSafaris.in to bring useful information together in one place — for people planning a safari, looking for a particular species, interested in wildlife photography, studying biodiversity, or simply wanting to learn more about India’s natural world.
Our focus is simple: India’s wildlife, the landscapes and ecosystems that support it, and helping people explore and understand them responsibly.

WildlifeSafaris.in is built by a small team whose interests and experience cover different parts of India’s wildlife story.
Pragati — Founder & Wildlife Travel Expert
Pragati focuses on Andaman, Uttarakhand and Karnataka, along with wildlife travel and wildlife photography.
N. Agarwal — Senior Editor
N. Agarwal focuses on the Himalayas, wildlife behaviour, safari logistics and permits, and helps shape and review the site’s editorial content.
Anjali Arora — Tiger Safari & Safari Logistics Expert
Anjali specialises in Central India and Rajasthan, with particular knowledge of tiger safaris, permits and the practical side of safari planning.
Akash Barphukan — Biodiversity & Wildlife Species Expert
Akash focuses on biodiversity, wildlife species and birdwatching, with particular knowledge of the diverse wildlife and habitats of North East India.
Monica — Conservation Editor
Monica brings a conservation perspective to our coverage of wildlife, habitats, ecosystems and responsible wildlife tourism.
We also work with independent contributors when specialist knowledge, photography or other creative work adds value. Contributors are credited where appropriate.
How We Work
We place accuracy above speed.
Our articles are developed from research drawn from scientific publications, government agencies, forest departments, protected-area authorities, conservation organisations, field guides and other credible sources.
Research is then edited into practical, readable guides. Depending on the subject, we check details such as species information, taxonomy, distribution, geography, conservation status, park rules, permits and other information that may change over time.
We also provide sources and references where they are useful, particularly for scientific, conservation and factual claims.
The aim is not simply to collect information from elsewhere. We try to organise it, explain it clearly and add practical context so that readers can actually use it.
Keeping Information Current
Wildlife information changes.
A park may introduce new rules. Safari arrangements may change. A species may be reclassified. A new protected area may be notified. Conservation programmes may develop.
For that reason, we treat our guides as living resources. Articles are reviewed and updated when important information changes or when they are due for editorial review.
We don’t change dates simply to make an article appear new. When an article is updated, the date should reflect a genuine editorial review or substantive change.
If you notice something that is incorrect or outdated, please let us know. When we identify a factual error, we correct it and update the article where necessary.

WildlifeSafaris.in is an independent editorial platform.
Our editorial decisions are not made by tour operators, hotels, resorts or destination marketing organisations. We aim to present information according to its usefulness, relevance and accuracy rather than promotional considerations.

Wildlife Tourism With Respect for Wildlife
A safari is about more than seeing a tiger.
India’s protected areas contain complex ecosystems, thousands of species and landscapes that deserve attention in their own right. We believe wildlife tourism is more meaningful when visitors understand the places they are entering and the wildlife they are there to see.
Our guides therefore encourage responsible behaviour — following park rules, keeping appropriate distances, avoiding disturbance, respecting habitats and supporting conservation-friendly tourism.

Our goal is to make reliable wildlife information clear, practical and easy to explore, whether you are a traveller, photographer, student, researcher or simply someone who enjoys learning about nature.
Our Long-Term Vision
WildlifeSafaris.in is a long-term project.
We want to build one of India’s most comprehensive online resources for wildlife — bringing together information about protected areas, species, ecosystems, safari destinations, wildlife behaviour, photography and conservation.
There is a great deal to document, and we are still building it.
